WILDE is the student association of the English department at the VU University Amsterdam.
The name WILDE comes from Oscar Wilde, the famous writer and poet. Because WILDE is an association that is interested in everything that has to do with English literature, linguistics and culture it is appropriate that it has a name connected to our study and our interests.

WILDE organises many activities that are attended by both students and staff. Members and non-members can join the board of WILDE on trips to the theatre, or at numerous ‘borrels’, the famous Dutch afternoon get-together for drinks and merriment. Members can also get a discount on study material if they order through WILDE.
